The Denver Nuggets are a very young team in the middle of a rebuilding process that should be complete in a year or two. Adding Carmelo Anthony to a young lineup that includes Nene Hiliario, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Marcus Camby, and possible free agents like Gilbert Arenas, Juwan Howard, and others they are well on their way to being a playoff team within the next year or two. Carmelo Anthony will be an impact player in the NBA this year and will have a very positive impact on the Nuggets. He is a multi-talented player and can do whatever his team needs. Many times players come from college being able to do one thing well. They might be a great shooter but a terrible defensive player or be a good rebounder but terrible shooter. Carmelo Anthony can do it all. He is a great defensive rebounder, can score inside and out, and generally makes everyone around him better. He is a great passer out of double teams, and has pure atheltic ability that will help him adapt quickly to the NBA game. Along with Carmelo's great talent he also has a winning attitude. He just got finished winning the NCAA championship with Syracuse and won't want to be a part of a team that wins 20 games. Carmelo should be able to get the Nuggets to around 35-40 wins this year which would be a huge jump. Also Coach Jeff Bzdelik is a hungry young coach that is great at motivating players. Even thought he Nuggets didn't win a lot of games last year they were always playing hard and kept a lot of games much closer than they should have been. I am a big fan of giving young, unproven coaches like Bzdelik a chance as opposed to recycling an old guy like Lenny Wilkins. The young coach usually will take more chances, have more fire, and relate to players much better than a guy who has been running the same system for 20+ years thinking it will work in today's league. Overall I think Carmelo should average around 15-18 points per game, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. He will probably finish right behind Darko and LeBron in the Rookie of the Year voting and will provide the Nuggets with a great player to build on in the future.
